Hypersensitivity to Ticks and Lyme Disease Risk

Emerging Infectious Diseases, CDC, 2005. A study of over 1,000 Block Island residents suggests that repeatedly-bitten hosts may become sensitive to tick bites with repeated exposures, and the inflammatory response might both alert the person to remove a tick promptly and provide protection from tick-borne infection.  Includes charts, table.

Reinfection and Relapse in Early Lyme Disease
